Bryony – Tough Love Tattoo Studio

Bryony has been a custom tattoo artist since June 2015, where she developed a large portfolio, working alongside some of the best artists in the U.K at Aggy’s Ink Tattoo Studio in London.

Bryony grew up in Mansfield in Nottinghamshire.

At School she always knew she wanted to do something creative but wasn’t sure what, toying between Art Therapy and Tattooing so after acquiring a Distinction in Foundation Art and Design, decided to see what opportunities London had to offer.

There she studied for a Mixed Media Fine Art Degree at the University of Westminster for 3 years, developing a love for the art and history of tattooing through her studies.

After uni, she began work as a Social Worker at Harrow Mencap and alongside this, gained a Tattooing Apprenticeship at Aggy’s Ink Tattoo Studio in Hornsey.

In the end, she decided that the more hands on, creative approach was best suited to her and began to concentrate more on completing her Apprenticeship.

Although an eclectic artist, she developed her own style in realism, black and grey and colour tattoos, creating surreal, collage tattoo designs, reminiscent of her mixed media artwork at University.

In 2018 Bryony decided to take the plunge with husband Shaun and move to Scarborough, to begin her dream of creating her own studio by the coast.

Building an inclusive, friendly environment has always been paramount in her vision for Tough Love. She wanted to break the egotistical stigma that can be so daunting when entering a tattoo parlour and instead offers customers a relaxing place where they feel comfortable being tattooed.

As a result, Tough Love Tattoo Studio was born!
